Saronic Boats was founded by veteran boatbuilder Mat Bailey, and development of the boat that started it all, the Skope 600v began. Based from a small building in Te Rapa, Hamilton, Mat established Matcraft Industries, a specialist boat repair company that would provide a steady income stream while his boat brand was at the startup stage. Meanwhile, test hulls were produced, tested, adjusted and perfected.
The first model release, the Skope 600V was ready and showcased to the public at the October2019 Waikato Boat, Fishing & Leisure Show for the very first time. A milestone for Mat and his team.
Feed back from boat owners, prompted us to develop a family-friendly crossover style boat shortly after the Waikato Boat Show. Along came the SX6 and so did the orders!
As families grow, so do the boats. Mat wanted a bigger boat as his family grew. Wake surfing had officially become a sport, Mat’s mission was to craft a boat that not only did it all but could comfortably handle a larger crew for a day on the lake. The SixFour was born, delivering huge wakes and waves and, with the addition of SCS touch screen display (Saronic Control System) this was a big step in the right direction.
Riding an epic wave of boat sales since the inception of the SixFour, back-to-back boat builds have become the norm, and the business has a larger, purpose-built factory under construction, along with some even more exciting news on the way…
